Stephen Lang

Stephen Lang has earned enduring critical and popular acclaim over the course of a 5 decade career as an actor in Film, Theatre, Television, and the Spoken Word. His work on Broadway includes DEATH OF A SALESMAN, A FEW GOOD MEN, THE SPEED OF DARKNESS, and HAMLET. Nominations and awards include the Tony Award, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Helen Hayes, Lucille Lorelei, and Joseph Jefferson Awards. He has performed his solo play, BEYOND GLORY, for military and civilian audiences all across the globe; from Guam to Guantanamo, from Korea’s DMZ to forward bases in Afghanistan, receiving the Chairman’s Medal for Distinguished Service from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Bob Hope Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. His film of BEYOND GLORY has received awards and accolades from numerous festivals including the G.I. Film Festival and the Gettysburg Film Festival. His many other films include LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN, GODS AND GENERALS, TOMBSTONE, PUBLIC ENEMIES, MORTAL ENGINES, DON’T BREATHE, Michael Mann’s MANHUNTER, and as Quaritch in James Cameron’s on-going AVATAR saga. His most recent work is as the prophet Samuel in Amazon’s hit series, HOUSE OF DAVID. Lang holds Honorary Doctorates from Jacksonville University and from his alma mater, Swarthmore College. He is a longtime member of The Actors Studio, as well as a member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences.
