Responding to this unprecedented crisis has required unprecedented effort and ingenuity. We are taking every precaution and implementing every practice to ensure the health and wellbeing of our guests and staff—while maintaining the operation of our critical emergency services. We offer to-go meals in our dining room, a week’s supply of groceries from our food pantry, and both daytime and overnight shelter to homeless women. It is friends like you who enable us to keep our doors open and our support constant—for every woman who needs us. Thank you helping to make this possible

Thank you so much for your contribution to our youth in this time of crisis. We have seen an increased need for direct financial assistance to our youth – paying portions of rent, paying internet or phone bills to keep youth connected, and sending food packages directly to their doors via food delivery services such as Instacart. So many of our clients suddenly found themselves out of work with no way to manage their monthly expenses. While we pride ourselves on our model of developing independence for our youth, we have responded to this need, as any parent would. We have also seen an increased need for our social work staff to provide emotional support, as the isolation itself is extremely triggering. We are committed to seeing our youth through this crisis and getting back on track for the future, and we know they will. We are so thankful for the support of the Lang Foundation, who has cared about our mission and our youth long before this crisis began. We truly appreciate your continued support, especially in these uncertain times.

The money raised by the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund will help pay for care, testing and other coronavirus-related costs at The Samuel J. Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts. It also will support vital Actors Fund programs providing emergency financial assistance, health insurance and counseling to actors, stage managers, musicians, stagehands and backstage personnel, front of house staff and ushers, company managers and anyone in the industry dealing with the effects of the pandemic…The last few days have been overwhelming as we begin to see just a hint of the health complications and fears, as well as economic effects of the coronavirus outbreak. Please extend our gratitude to everyone at the foundation for joining us in this effort. You are making a tremendous difference for so many in this complicated and confusing time.
